Were you travelling to, from or to Hungary and had a train delay of more than 60 minutes? Then you are entitled to a refund of at least 25% of the fare!
Amount of the claim
Under EU law, passengers are entitled to the following refunds in the event of a delay
- From 60 minutes: 25% of the one-way fare paid.
- From 120 minutes: 50% of the one-way fare paid.
Request reimbursement
To apply for a refund, the following two documents are required:
- The original ticket
- The Refund/Compensation Claim Form(can be downloaded here).
The two documents must be sent to MÁV either via the contact form or by email(informacio@mav-start.hu).
Refunds can take up to one month.
